The Birth of Kini Consulting
Kini Consulting was founded in 2002 by Dev Tandon, who developed his own approach to achieving Commercial Excellence after serving as a consultant at McKinsey. He quickly replaced the traditional model of top consulting firms, which generally are called in to pull data, analyze it, and then tell you the answers to your problems…but leave you to perform the hard task of implementing those answers.
Instead of the dichotomy between solve the problem and apply the solution, Dev conceived of consulting as a partnership where consultants stay on the job until the client is able to make their findings actionable. As the firm grew, Kini revamped the role of consultants and began working with client teams from the initial phases through to completion. This partnership enables us to realistically size opportunity and develop actionable plans that unquestionably impact your bottom line.
Our approach is to support our clients until the work is actually completed and success has been achieved. We are committed to doing whatever it takes – reporting, data cleansing, analytics, project management, sales training, and more – to make sure that you see a measurable improvement in your bottom line.
Development of Commercial Analytics Software
As the firm grew and we honed our approach, we discovered some major gaps in regard to sales performance analytics. Specifically, there were no tools that could clearly and easily measure pricing, unit volume, and mix shift for each member of a sales organization in a concise, easy to understand, timely manner.
So, we invested heavily in R&D and created KiniMetrix, our sales performance management SaaS solution. Today, as our first decade in business draws to a close, we are running at full speed with the right blend of functional expertise, project approach, and proprietary software to ensure commercial excellence for all of our clients.
